I have a new phone and right now everything works good and fast, and there are no problems, but I keep getting notified to update my apps..

Do I really need to update apps if everyone already works?
I am just scared that my phone will get slower or drain battery more if I update all my apps.

Some apps may force you to .. in order to get all the features. Do you "need" to? I would say no .. but should you? Yes. They update them to add more things, fix bugs, and just make it run faster!

I check the changes in the update. If there's nothing I need, and it's not a security fix, I don't bother. I have automatic update disabled. (If I do want the update, I back up the existing one first, so that if the update has bugs, I can uninstall it and restore the backup.)
