Charging issues with Samsung Note 2, can I get some help solving this?

Charging issues with Samsung note 2

I noticed my phone will charge for more than 7 hours to be fully charged, other times it will take 4.5 hours. Checked for moisture, none. Tried different outlets. A few times, it has ran out of juice and turned off and when I got to charge it, the green battery symbol indicates its a quarter full. Can any one help me solve this charging problem?

Have you checked that the USB port is clean and undamaged?

The problem could also lie with the charger, or USB lead. Or of course, elsewhere, but check all those things first.
