Can't connect to WiFi via a hotspot

We live in a rural area and must use over the air ATT signal to get internet signal. I can connect my desktop by direct USB cable from the hot spot. I can also connect an iPhone and a Samsung Galaxy Note II (requires the user id and password). But my updated Nexus 7 (2012) cannot find the network . What can I do to make it see the hot spot so I can make a connection.

Re: Can't connect to WiFi via a hotspot

Bring the Nexus to another wifi router and see if it finds the signal. It may have a bad wifi radio, or a disconnected wifi antenna or some other problem.
