I have an S6 and lost my Google Hangouts in the home screen. It is also missing from my Google folder. However, if I hold the recents screen it shows up as an app that will show in split screen. From there I can tap Hangouts and it will open. How do I get it back to the home screen?

Welcome to Android Central! Do you mean it's missing from the Google folder in the App Drawer? Do you see it anywhere else in the App Drawer? Could it be hidden?

Try wiping the cache partition: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-21095

When I use S-finder it shows up as an application. I can not move it and I don't know where it is. Help does not say how to unhide applications. I wiped the cache per the instructions you referenced but nothing it still did not show. So it is in my system somewhere but I can't get it to the home screen.
