Something has disabled Recent Apps button, Galaxy Note 4

[AC Question]

The recent apps soft key on my note 4 has been disabled, every time I touch it I get the message "Security policy prevents using task manager." Ive gone through all the settings I think would be relevant to the problem and even reset it back to default settings, still nothing. I liked the ability to use the button and would like to have it back. Any ideas?

Also, work downloaded a program called mobicontrol onto the phone but i believe it started doing that before the download but not 100% sure, think this could be it?

Welcome to Android Central! That MobiControl app is almost certainly the reason, although I don't understand why it would take away the Recent Apps button. Ask your company's IT department what's the deal.
