I figured I needed a new battery for my Galaxy S4, so I went to the Verizon Store and bought a new one. When I started to use it, the battery was draining much faster than the battery that I had replaced it with. I have 2 questions: If I switch back to my old battery and keep the new one as a spare, will the new one begin to slowly lose its juice? If I continue to use the new battery, will my old battery lose its juice?

I believe that batteries discharge slowly when not connected to a device. You don't want to let them discharge fully, so alternate them frequently enough not to allow the full discharge of either.
