Why won't my Samsung Note 4 stay on?

yesterday my phone screen went black and would not allow me to do anything. i took the battery out for a while and still nothing. i kept removing the battery until it finally came on and stayed on. this morning i kept getting the same text message from people over and over ( one message came through 15 times), so i restarted the phone. since then it has not stayed on. it will power on sometimes to my home screen then shut off. other times it won't get that far before it goes black. sometimes, its just a black screen and i can hear my notifications going off, but i can't access anything because the screen is black. the phone has no water damage, no prior problems and i haven't even had the phone 6 months...please help!

Welcome to Android Central! Try wiping the cache partition: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-14686. If that doesn't help, boot into Safe Mode to see if some 3rd party app is messing things up. Galaxy Note 4 Safe Mode: What you need to know | Android Central

The phone is still under warranty, so if all else fails, contact Samsung for warranty repair or replacement. You could also check with your carrier first, since they will sometimes give you a replacement themselves.
