How to back phone up with disfuntional screen?

My Galaxy S5 was dropped, and the screen cracked to where you cant use it or see it. The lights still flash on the phone, but it's unusable. I have many pictures, apps, and more so I want to be able to easily have everything on my replacement S5. I received my replacement, the same phone today. I downloaded Kies 3 to try an back it up, but it requires my passcode, a short pattern, to be entered ON THE DEVICE. Now I am unsure how I will be able to transfer the still working but messed up screen phone to the computer to put on the new S5.

The shop method is to temporarily plug in a working screen. If you can't find anyone to do that for you, you can try Recovering data using ADB (Post 22).
