My son just purchased a second hand Samsung Galaxy S5 over the internet. After he got home and put his SIM card in, the phone asked for the Privacy Protection Password. We rang the lady he purchased it off and she said she doesn't know it and has never had to put in a password. What do we do?

From what I've read there is no way to remove it other than entering the password (which I think you are referring to the sim lock password). This means either she really forgot it or the phone was stolen. Either way the phone is useless to you and I would get your money back.
