How can I add autospace after punctuation on my keyboard?

Before the new Android update (5.0), every time I would put in punctuation I could automatically continue typing and it would make the next letter a space away and capitalized. However, with the new update, after I add an exclamation point or question mark if I continue typing, the letter is right next to it and not capitalized. What can I do?

Open the keyboard settings and see if it has any settings that would allow you to set a preferred setting to input a space after the punctuation. I'm not sure why it would have changed, but perhaps the default settings are without punctuation and you need to enable it.
