Can you use kies to get rid of app spam?

[AC Question]

yesterday did something (don't know what!) on Samsung s3 mini and since then inundated with spam and accident insurance and game rubbish
Called Samsung who said download kies
Having problems with that and not techy at all so need an idiots guide or a Barclays digital eagle!
Can anyone advise if kies will help get rid of or stop the spam
