    For example...if I text "Hey I think you'd like this ringtone. Click here to use it" and they click, could it change their default settings to that tone?

    Welcome to Android Central! No. If I received a text like that, I would think spam, and then I would think malware, so I wouldn't even approach it that way.

    To send a ringtone, you'd have to attach the ringtone file to your message (which would make it MMS, not SMS), and the recipient would have to download that ringtone file to their phone, then move it to the Ringtones folder.
