So i had my S5 for quite a while but still don't know which would be the better option. I went to a rave a few days ago and recorded with 2160p, but when transferring onto my computer with a usb cable, I was unable to play it on Window Media Player. The question is, would it be better for me to record at 2160p or 1080p? I do not have a 4k monitor, just a regular 1080p. What are the advantages if I record with 2160p instead of 1080p? And also is there a way to play my videos recorded in 2160p on window media player instead of having to download VLC?

None, since you'll be watching them in 1080p.

Evidently not, since they won't play. But since you can't see them in 2160p on your monitor, why go to all the trouble and waste all the space - to see what you'd see if you recorded in 1080p?
