I forgot my pin to unlock my phone, what do I do?

AC Question

I have a galaxy s5 and changed my pin code to unlock my phone and have now forgotten it. I logged on to my gmail account and looked under android device manager located my phone and attempted to lock my phone from there using a different pin but it is telling my I do not have to use a different pin because my phone is already locked. Any suggestions?

Welcome to Android Central! It's interesting--I'm pretty sure Android Device Manager used to have a feature to remotely reset your PIN or passcode, but looking at the Google's help page for this, I don't see that any more: https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/3388218?hl=en. It only talks about resetting a pattern unlock on devices running 4.4 or below.

You might be stuck, in which case you'd have to fail the unlock attempts until it does a factory reset. Try bringing it to a Samsung Store in your local Best Buy and see if they have any ideas.
