How do I do back-up without installing new app?

My Galaxy 5 won't install new apps. I want to do a factory reset and need to do a backup first but all the ways to back up data I can find need an app installing. How do I do the backup without installing new app?

Kies will back up most things. Read Backing up an Android Device. Some things can be backed up without installing an app.

If the reason it won't install apps is because there's no space eft, put in an SD card and move all your pictures, videos, music, etc., to the card, then you can install a couple of backup apps and back everything up. (Kies is kind of good, but manually backing up what you want backed up is best.)
