NVIDIA Shield Tablet or Nexus 9?

I'm looking for my next tablet after a Nexus 7 (1st gen). I'm going once again for the "nexus experience" and figured the Nexus 9 was the one to buy. Not too happy with the 4:3 ratio, but I was okay with it. But reading reviews made me think twice and I started looking elsewhere.

I landed on the Shield Tablet which seem to tick most boxes for me. There is the Dell tablet, but it's a bit tricky getting my hand on it here in Sweden.

So what do you guys say - should I go with the Nexus 9 or the Shield Tablet?

I have exactly the same dilemma at the moment, Shield or Nexus 9.
my 2012 Nexus 7 struggles to run latest Android.
Personally I think both look great, but I would prefer the aspect ratio and general style of the Nexus 9.
I'm not so interested in tablet gaming (though I'm sure the Shield is a great all round tablet anyway)

Having looked though lots of info and users comments it seems like the vast majority of the bad reviews for the Nexus 9 were from its launch, and these issues have since been addressed.
You would hope its now a much safer buy and not such a lottery regarding quality.

It would be interesting to hear reports from users who have a more recently built Nexus 9....
