    When should you recharge it? Is it better to run it down and then recharge or keep topping it up? i

    You can - but you'd have to disassemble it in order to be able to overcharge it. Plugging the charger in won't do it, because charging stops when the battery reaches 100% charge, even though the charging indicator stays on. (That's indicating that charging voltage is available, not that current is being fed into the battery. I've left phones plugged into chargers for months, because I forgot about them - with no effect on the battery, except that it was fully charged.)

    tl;dr - when it gets down near 40%. Try to not let it get lower than that. Try to never let it get down as far as 20%. That would shorten the battery's life by about 75%.
