    I want to copy a long piece of text and put it in the body of an SMS text, not as an attachment.

    Hello.
    You would normally copy and paste.
    If the document is on the device (via the Downloads app) can you long press it and copy it via the copy symbol (2 pages).
    The device clipboard normally stores 1 item at a time and it's a good idea to have your message text open as well so you can switch between apps, then long press on the message text and Paste.

    Samsungs generally store 10 clips temporarily,.
    The Clipper app is very useful and stores 10 or 20 clips on the free version.
