When I go to Google Play Store, my apps are set to update automatically. Bit it isn't happening. I have it set to update automatically and to notify but neither is happening. I'm talking about all of my stock google apps. I haven't downloaded any other apps from the play store. I've reset the device three times, removed account, cleared data and then reset the device again but it still doesn't work.

This is my first android device which is running kitkat. Already I don't like it but will try to work through it. It is a new alcatel pop icon.

If anyone has any idea what to do I'd appreciate it.

I'm of the assumption that as soon as I go into the app store for the first time that it would automatically update all of the stock apps on my device. It is set to do that.

Based on my experience, my apps only update on restart. But you could try running google play on background. Hope this helps

Do you mean restart the app or restart the phone? I just did another factory reset for what its worth. I should be able to just open up play store and my stock apps update if they are set to do that I would think. I don't know. It should just work. It's annoying.

    Thanks for feedback.

Yeah, I know that I can go finf the app in the store and update it manually. And, likely, that is preferable for most. Eventually I'll go that route myself but I'm annoyed that the stock android apps won't auto update since they are set to do that. They don't even show up on the list. Youk now? The list of apps that the store shows that are on your device? It doesn't read my stock apps at all. So, I'm not really content with a workaround, i'd like it to work the way that it is supposed to work. It is set up to auto update and iut isn't doing that. As I said, the store isn't even showing a list of my stock apps.

    Thanks none the less.
