I cleared data in Gallery in Manage Applications.
I go into Gallery and can delete images one at a time.
If I select the folder containing the 743 images I want to delete, there is no way to call up a delete command. If I select all the images in the folder, all I can pull up is a warning I can only select 50 images and no way to delete.

The original photos are on a hard drive on my laptop and I don't want to lose them.

I think the pictures got into Gallery somehow when I sent the photos to someone with Facebook Messenger.

Welcome to the forums. Have you tried connecting to a PC and deleting that way? Might be a little easier.

Yes, I connected the phone to my laptop, searched the phone and SD card and found no images nor any folder that comes close to the name.
The phone is a Galaxy Note 3. Any idea what the filetype is on the phone and SD card? I may have to resort to downloading Kies Air and see if that allows me to delete a whole folder of images.

    Kies Air did the job.
I hesitated to use it because older b=versions were slow and flaky.
Before that, I did find he jpg' on the SD Card but got an internal error when I tried to delete them, even one at a time.

Sorry for the delay. Glad you got it sorted.
