How come when my M8 actively uses wifi my other connected devices suffer disruption?

So I have an HTC M8 through ATT and it seems whenever I use any app or when I get updates while connected to wifi, my other devices connections are disrupted. (Xbox One, PC, Laptop) When I turn off the wifi and use my LTE connection while using my phone all is well. Is there something I can do so my phone can use my wifi at home without this happening?

Welcome to Android Central! Do you know how many IP addresses are included in your router's DHCP range? If you don't use static IP addresses, then make sure this range is pretty wide (e.g., 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.255, which gives you 255 possible IP addresses that can be dynamically assigned). If it's narrow (like 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.5), then you only have 5 addresses that can by dynamically assigned. So if the network already has the maximum number of devices for that number of addresses (and all devices are using DHCP), then adding another device to the network will cause a conflict and bump another one off.
