Why is my battery charging down so fast Galaxy Tab 2: 8 inch 2 yrs. Old

The battery indicators on both my Tablet and Samsung Galaxy S4 have an x while charging. I use a battery saver app.
Do I need new battery for the Tablet (which the consumer can't open)? I use Samsung chargers.

Welcome to Android Central! Have you tried different cables and charging plugs? They may be Samsung chargers, but chargers can fail.

If the same thing happens with multiple different cables and plugs, then it's probably either a dying battery, or a faulty microUSB port.
