My wife and I are going to Verizon today to get new phones for ourselves and giving my daughters our current S5's (will be their first phones). We are changing over to the Edge plan to add them to our account. I was thinking of getting the S6 or S6 Edge but was hesitant because of the reviews on battery life. I use my phone heavily being in the IT field but it is rare that I'm not near a place to charge my phone.

My question is - if you could go get any android phone at Verizon today what would it be?

I'd personally get the Nexus 6 if I had the option. I like the more pure experience. I don't mind TouchWiz so much on my tablet (Galaxy Note 10.1 2014) as it has some value-add for me on the tablet vs. what I'd get from it on a phone. After Nexus 6 I'd look at a Turbo or Moto X, though both are now considered "old" and are due for refreshes in the next 3-4 months. I'm partial to Motorola in general, my phone is a first-gen X. I see the current Moto X almost as a Nexus 6 but with the Moto "goodies" added on (Active Display, Voice commands).

Whatever phone you choose, it may be a good idea to spend a few dollars on a spare battery. I went from the S5 to the Note 4 as I really enjoy the larger screen.

The non-removable battery was another issue causing me to hesitate on getting the S6.

    If a non-removable battery is a show-stopper, you're basically looking at a Note or the LG G4.

The non-removable battery is not a definite deal breaker. Just concerned on the life of it. Anyone have the S5 and now the S6? How do they compare with battery life?

I have no issues with battery life on my s6 and I'm constantly texting and on instagram. It's better than my g3 battery. Plus if you need a little extra juice and you're be an outlet it takes 5 mins boost it up 30% lol. I'm sure the battery will last for the time of you having the phone I'm sure longevity wise after 2 years it won't be great but who keeps their phones for more than 2.5 years now a days anyway? Lol
