Why is s6 edge 5.1.1 overheating and extreme battery draining?

I updated my s6 edge to 5.1.1 yesterday and it started overheating for no reason, and the battery dropped from 100% to 84% in 10-15 minutes with no apps running. Before this its battery life was great and there was no overheating issue. What do I do?

Welcome to AC.

In the first instance, try a Cache Partition wipe, which is easily done and which causes no loss of personal data.
If that doesn't fix it, get back to us.

I wiped the cache partition and the problem is not as bad-phone still gets a little warm, and hotter than normal with moderate use, and the battery life is much better, but not as good as pre-update state.
