How come my files are corrupted?

Ok! So a couple of days ago i decided to do the lollipop update & ever since all the pictures I have taken are corrupted. I can see some files on my pc but other ones are just gone! I had read to format my SD card I did and same thing! I did the factory reset & still can't see any of the pictures I've taken after it. Also, my phone heats up a lot!! & one last weird thing I can't comment on FB. Yes, I already unis talked it & installed it again & cleared cache. This update is seriously making me think about going back to iPhone

It sounds like your pictures just got messed up in the update. Did you back up your photos elsewhere? You should always ensure to backup photos to a cloud base service since so many things can happen to our phones.
