I updated myUpdated Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 to Lollipop last week and wish, like others, I hadn't.

My tablet is frequently either re-starting or turning off completely. I am a complete newbie with tablets and am totally confused by the terminology used in the forums. Could someone please help me , in layman's words, how to get over this problem without causing permanent havoc and maybe ruining the tablet. I also have trouble now with the e-mail app which completely locks up. I have removed and re-installed it to no avail. Many thanks

Welcome to Android Central! Wiping the system cache partition can sometimes help with these general problems after a system update. You won't lose any personal data. https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-11085

Thank you for that. I'm sorry that I ommitted to say that I have done that and also updated all my apps. It is still no better and I am finding that Android Central keeps crashing every few secons whilst I am searching, not joking. Thanks for your help

Sometimes a full factory reset is what's needed, which of course means that you need to backup or sync all of your data first.
