Why does 'no sim card' appear?

A

AC Question

I bought an Htc One M8 and inserted the nano SIM card into my phone. I waited a few hours but the no SIM card sign still appeared. I called the network providers and the SIM was working from their side and that it was in my phone that there was a problem. I went to the shop where I bought it from and they said that one of the pins had broken, although I used the HTC tool to open the SIM card slot. I am left with a phone that does not make or receive call. Can someone please help me?

Welcome to Android Central! If one of the contacts broke in the SIM reader, then you need to have that part replaced. You could try contacting HTC to see if this is covered under warranty, but it might be hard to prove that this wasn't due to accidental damage.
