I just picked up a Verizon Ellipsis 7 tablet at a pawn shop and it works but it will not update to Lollipop. It tells me that it cannot connect to server. I'm assuming that it is because I do not have a Verizon account. Is there anything that I can do to get around that? Thanks in advance!

If you don't have a Verizon account, then you'd have to root the device and flash the firmware, but I couldn't find a way to do that after a cursory Google search.
