Welcome to Android Central! How are you creating the new folders? From within the Gallery app, or using My Files (or some other file manager app)?

Someone else had this same issue recently. I'm trying to remember the fix for it.

One was to create a new album using My Files and creating it on the SD card.

The second way was to copy to album or move, a picture you already have, then choose create new. You can't have an empty folder in the gallery, so a picture has to be added in either scenario.

YW! I think the whole key is having a picture in the new album. When I create on through my files and don't have a picture, then it doesn't show in the gallery. You have to have a picture for the gallery to create it so it knows it is an album.
