My HTC One S stopped working and now it's stuck in a bootloop. Both HTC customer support and T-Mobile advised a factory reset, but I would lose all my data (photos, apps, contacts, etc.). Is there a way to backup my data while my phone is stuck in a bootloop? And is a factory reset my only option? Any help appreciated!

    1. Your contacts should always be Google contacts, so they're at Google Contacts. Losing them on the phone just means syncing them again.

    2. You can redownload all your apps if you don't have them backed up. Even the paid ones. They're paid for that account, so you won't have to pay again.

    3. You can try Recovering files via adb (Post #22) if you can boot to recovery mode, but anything you don't want to lose should be backed up. (You might be able to recover files from a bootlooped phone, but you can't recover files from a phone that you dropped just as a truck went by and flattened the phone.).
