Why wont my phone read my sd card anymore?

A

AC Question

I have an Lg G3, and a SanDisk Ultra, 64 gb card. My phone has read the SD just fine for the past year, but a few days ago, it stopped reading it.

On my computer I can see that all my files are still in the SD card. And, when I put the SD card in the phone is says, "SD card inserted" however when I go to storage it isn't there. It does not exist to the phone.

I have no idea what's going on, any suggestions?

Welcome to Android Central! First, make sure all of the SD data is backed up to your computer, in case the card is about to fail.

Second, you said you can see the files when the card is inserted into the computer--but can you open them? If you have trouble opening files, that would also suggest a failing card.

While inserted into the computer, try running chkdsk to look for bad sectors: http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...guide-using-chkdsk-fix-corrupted-sd-card.html

I made an account..

Thank you so much! I appreciate the feedback.
I can open the files on my desktop. However, after trying what this manual suggested, it said there is an entry with a non-valid link.
I will go from here, but thanks for the help.
