Xperia M2 Aqua battery draining while charging after it reaches 100%.

I have a weird problem with my brand new Sony Xperia M2 - bought it only a month ago. My phone was charging today (it was turned on but all the major applications were off) and towards the end I received a notification from Battery Doctor that I should unplug it because trickle stage is complete and the phone is fully charged. A while later I went to unplug it however the battery was at 98% so I was like ok something's wrong with Battery Doctor I will leave it plugged in until it's 100% charged. When the battery got to 100 I got the notification from Battery Doctor that the trickle stage is beginning and it is 10 min left ( it's a quick stage of charging after the battery reaches 100 to extend battery life, reportedly). So I left it plugged in to fully complete the charge, however when I returned 10 min later the battery was at 98% again. What is going on? Should I be worried for my battery?

Welcome to Android Central! It may be that you caught it after the saturation charge was finished and the battery was allowed to drop a bit before standby mode took over. See this article: Charging Lithium-Ion Batteries – Battery University
