I have a zenfone 2 and it came with a 2amp wall charger. It charges slower than it uses the juice using a regular 1amp charger. I need to replace my car adapter and the others in my home for it to charge properly. I found some 3.1amp chargers on eBay for under $2, will a 3amp fry my phone?

No, the charger doesn't push current into the phone, the phone draws as much as it's designed to. (Will plugging a 1 Amp (100 Watt) light bulb into your 200 Amp house service fry the light bulb?) But most phones are designed to charge at 1.8 Amps or less, so you won't see any difference between a 2 Amp charger and a 200 Amp charger.

If the phone is using more current than it's designed to charge with, there's probably a problem.
