I factory reset my Verizon Note 4, but my phone still has Lollipop 5. What did I do wrong?

I backed up my data, and then I used the settings menu to "factory reset". But once my phone reset, it still had the dreadful Lollipop. I thought it would revert back to the version my phone originally came with, which was awesome! I'm in a hate relationship with Lollipop. I have experienced terrible battery drain. I used to go about two days plus before having to charge my phone. Now I sometimes have to charge before the day is over, after a full charge in the morning. And the phone automatically reboots all the time. My phone constantly freezes, causing me to have to power my phone off and restart it again. Please help!

Welcome to Android Central! Factory reset doesn't downgrade you back to the original OS version. You might be able to downgrade by flashing the KitKat firmware using Odin: http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...w-flash-stock-rom-via-odin-new-interface.html.
