How do I change the language on my new ZenFone 2 from Thai to English?

Yesterday I bought a new ZenFone 2, my first ever smart phone. I live in Thailand and the default language on it is Thai. I read Thai slowly and need to practice keyboard skills before I can write effectively--that's months away. How do I change the Android OS language to English? Now I can't even call anyone.

Welcome to Android Central! Swipe down the notification panel, and tap the Settings button (which looks like a gear). Scroll down to the icon that is a big "A", which is Language & Input. Then tap the first option at the top, which is the system language. Select English.
