Why can't I connect to wifi?

[AC Question]

My Samsung Galaxy s3 used to connect to wifi but then I updated the phone software and now the phone won't connect to wifi. The wifi names don't even come up. the phone just keeps scanning and does nothing. even when you manually write the wifi name is still just scans.

Please help if you can.
