I have 2 gmail accounts on my Galaxy s5 - one for work and one personal. When I added the work account to my phone, it added 4200 contacts. I initially deleted them, thinking I was just deleting from my phone, but they also deleted from the gmail contacts on my computer. Others use these contacts so I can't have them deleted from gmail. I restored all of them and unsynced the account, but the contacts didn't disappear. How do I delete these just from my phone?

If you have contacts sync disabled, you can delete them on the phone and they will stay in Gmail. But you cannot ever turn sync back on.

Android since v1.0. Linux since 2001.
