Does Best Buy method still work for keeping unlimited data on Verizon?

I ordered a Samsung S5 from Best Buy; my account showed the contract date as 7/17 before the phone was received but still showed my phone as the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I received the S5 yesterday. I had both phones off, installed the sim card from the old phone and turned it on. It immediately recognized my phone number and I received a welcome text from Verizon. My account now shows the Samsung S5 now with the contract date as 7/17. It is still showing unlimited data thought. I just wondered if this is normal.
