I never get to my phone in time. How can I make it ring longer before the answering app picks it up?

Call your voicemail (long-press the 1 on the dial pad in the phone). Listen to the menu. There should be an "advanced menu" or "additional options" choice. In thre, there should be a setting for how LONG the phone rings before it goes to voicemail - it's by time with most voicemail servers, not by number of rings (a timer is much simpler than a ring detector). Figure 5 seconds per ring + 2 seconds (the ring you hear and the ring the caller hears [called the ringback tone] aren't synchronized). So if you want 10 rings, make it 52 or 53 seconds.

If you can't find it, or figure it out, call customer service for your carrier and they'll do it for you - just decide how long you want it to ring before going to voicemail and ask them to set it for that long.
