So, I just decided to do a Factory Wipe because my WiFi would hang at "Obtaining IP Adress" for hours, not connecting at all, in the end giving me a "IP Configuration Error".
after some Googling, I found this:

which describes my problem (and a solution) pretty well.
Sadly I didnt have my phone rooted and no experience with ADB, so I chose the lesser evil (the one I experienced befor) and decided to root my phone. Factory reset first, which is where I'm currently stuck at.
Seems like the Factory wipe did NOT clean out "/data/misc/dhcp", so I'm stuck trying to connect to a WiFi, unable to skip the search for Wireless Networks in the first setup.
