First - is it worth it?

That's for you to decide. Which apps do you want to run that require root? (Rooting won't change the operation of any of the apps you have on the phone now - if the phone isn't rooted, and they work, they don't need root. The phone won't run faster, use less battery or anything else. Rooting just allows you to run apps that need root.)

Second - if it's worth it, see if anyone at LG G2 - XDA Forums has a rooting method for the L22 (it's a Japanese variant of the G2).
