    Ok, so I downloaded outlook for the second time (don't ask), and I all ready set gmail as the default program. I do not see an "app" or "application" folder in settings.

    Try Settings, Apps, menu, Reset App Preferences.

    Response worked like a charm. Settings...Apps..Menu....reset default preferences.
    Make sure you chose home and not easy home thereafter!!
