Switching sims

Okay I know this is a newbie question but I've never done this and I'm curious. I currently own a Verizon LG g4 and I want a second phone looking at the Moto G. can I simply switch Sims card from phone to phone and continue with my day utilizing both phones as one or is there something I'm missing

You can, but I've always thought that the more you fiddle with SIMs and their slots and trays, the more likely it is that something will stop working.
