When I try to connect to my wi-fi at home I put in the password then it connects and then disconnects right away. The rest of my family have no problems connecting with their iPhones. When I login to the wi-fi at work it stays connected until I disconnect.

Connect to the router with something that stays connected and look at the wireless (or WLAN) settings. If you're using TKIP (or TKIP+AES) security, change it to AES. Everyone will have to reconnect after that, but your S5 should stay connected too. (Make sure, also, that in the DHCP section, there's at least one unused slot for you to connect to. If you have 5 devices connected, and only 5 slots, your phone gets a physical connection, but can't get a slot, so it drops the connection. The DHCP server in the router can normally be set to start anywhere above 1, and either specify the number of slots or specify the number of the last slot (which can be up to 254). So if yours starts at 2 and ends at 6, and 5 devices are connected, you're not going to get a connection. Change the 6 to a 7 and you will. (0 and 255 are reserved for network purposes and 1 is the router's address.)
