AT&T Apps Control

Finding that this phone has apps I consider unnecessary. As of this writing, I can only see "Force Stop" and "disable" as options. How can one formally uninstall such apps linked to AT&T

Typically, you can't completely remove the apps. Those apps are usually installed into the "system" section of storage, this section is locked unless you root the device. In the past, removing those apps might also have prevented you from receiving an over the air update. Disable, or uninstall updates then disable, is pretty much your only option. Disabling the app will prevent it from running in the background, it will remove it from your app drawer and it will not get flagged for updates when one is released.
