Sure. Mine's unlocked whenever I'm home and, being retired, that's normally a few days at a time. Unless you're worried about someone walking in and playing with your phone (small children, visitors, etc.), there's no problem turning the lock screen to None. (I use Tasker to do it automatically when I'm home, and lock it again when I'm not home, just in case.)

Another option is to leave it unlocked but choose to lock it whenever you press the power button.
