How can I choose Wi-Fi over data

When I'm at home I used Wi-Fi and when I'm out on the streets or whatever I use my data plan but lately whenever I'm home my phone will say that my Wi-Fi is connection is low so it kicks me off and goes to my data which has caused me to use up all my data within my month how do I fix this problem

Which phone do you have? Check in your settings - WiFi - advanced if there's an option to avoid weak connection and switch it off. Some phones have a smart network switch, if that's your case disable it and see if it makes a difference.
