I am having trouble with apps not updating on my kindle fire hdx. Any suggestions.

several programs are qued for update but stay in the downloading phase with no progress being indicated.

Have you already tried stopping the first one in that downloading list and then start again? If that doesn't work stop all the updates and then try one by one instead of the "update all" option. Maybe there's a problem with just one app.

Welcome to the forums. Try resetting app preferences. Settings>Apps>menu>reset app preferences. This sometimes helps with Play issues.
