Sony Z3 not receiving iPhone emojis correctly.

[AC Question]

Whenever I get a text containing emojis from an iPhone, the message has special characters at the beginning followed by readable text, almost like the first part of the sms didn't send correctly, but the 2nd part did. (70 character limit with emojis, I think it only happens with sms exceeding 70)

Example: ԀϱȂ? T-Mobile is screwed up!

Using Swiftkey, Textra, even tried dabbling with custom emoji fonts through system settings. Rooted with dual recovery, stock ROM, 5.0.2 Lollipop. My carrier is T-Mobile, the persons use Verizon. Didn't use to happen until 2 months ago. (is that when the new emojis came out?)

I'm having the exact same issue. I tried many different settings. And I think I also get the same thing with my stock messaging app. I'm on the Tmobile network too, although I have MetroPCS
