How do I unlock my tablet

I put a pattern on my tablet instead of a password and forgot it. I cannot get tiny my tablet at all. How can I fix this problem

Log in to Android Device Manager using your Google account and change the security settings from there.

I have the same problem, but my only options are to lock, ring, or reset my device. How can I unlock it?
